The Board of Harbor Commissioners welcomes you to Long Beach – home to the Green Port of the Future. It’s been 12 years since the Port of Long Beach last hosted the AAPA Annual Convention and we’re excited for all of you to see the milestones our Port achieved since then. The Port of Long Beach is one of the world’s premier seaports, a gateway for trans-Pacific trade and a trailblazer in goods movement and environmental stewardship. With 175 shipping lines connecting Long Beach to 217 seaports, the Port handles $180 billion in trade annually. A major economic force, the Port supports more than 30,000 Long Beach jobs, 316,000 jobs in Southern California and 1.4 million jobs throughout the United States. The Port also generates about $16 billion in annual trade-related wages statewide.
